Two masked, armed men allegedly broke into a private residence, along Penny Lane, Upper Fort Road, before dawn, robbing two occupants while brandishing a machete.
Reports indicate the incident occurred on May 5th, and entry may have been gained via an eastern-facing window — which was closed but unlocked and the mosquito screen forcibly removed. A male occupant was roused and forced to give up his shoulder bag. Consequently, a struggle ensued and the assailant fled with the bag and its contents.
Simultaneously, according to sources, another intruder entered a second bedroom, snatched a mobile phone from a female occupant and demanded additional cash.
Both assailants made good their escape through a southern door.
Items allegedly stolen include cash, comprising EC$850 and US$200, along with several government-issued IDs, a vehicle key, and a mobile phone valued at US$800.
No arrests have yet been made and investigations are ongoing.
