Mazaya reports construction progress of up to 70% across New Capital projects

Ahmed Shams, CEO of Mazaya Construction, said the company has achieved significant construction progress across its projects in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, with completion rates reaching nearly 70% on some developments.

The update came during a site visit organised by Mazaya Developments for clients and journalists to review implementation progress across several projects.

Shams said the company coordinates closely with consulting firms and engineering specialists across multiple disciplines to ensure timely execution of developments in the New Capital.

He added that Mazaya follows advanced planning procedures and secures construction materials ahead of implementation schedules to minimise the impact of market fluctuations and supply chain disruptions on project timelines.

According to Shams, the projects incorporate a range of technical and engineering specifications, including ground-floor heights ranging from 5.65 to 6.5 metres, alongside layouts designed to maximise commercial and plaza spaces.

He noted that developments are equipped with integrated operational systems, including backup power generators, water storage facilities, ventilation systems, and safety technologies such as fresh air circulation and positive pressurisation systems.

Parking areas across the projects are designed to accommodate between 230 and 250 vehicles, he added.

Regarding construction progress, Shams said Gemini Red has reached around 50% completion, while Gemini Blue recorded approximately 40%.

The two projects also feature extended terraces and three-dimensional façade designs intended to enhance operational efficiency while preserving architectural identity.

For The Rook project, Shams said construction progress has reached nearly 70%, with concrete works completed and finishing, façade and electromechanical works currently underway.

He added that the development incorporates smart operating systems as well as insulated glass and façade technologies aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing heat and noise levels.

Providing updates on the company’s latest project, Norm, Shams said site works began in January 2026. Around 38,600 cubic metres of filling materials have been removed, land levelling has been completed, and 15 soil tests reaching depths of 30 metres were conducted as part of engineering and design preparations.

He added that excavation works and removal of the first soil layer have already started, while the company is finalising remaining permits and preparing retaining works. Excavation activities are expected to conclude within three to four months before structural construction begins.

Shams said Mazaya continues to execute its four projects simultaneously in line with planned construction schedules and delivery timelines in the New Administrative Capital.
