*MJ the Musical has made a mighty return to Los Angeles presented by Broadway In Hollywood.
The hit production is lifted from the book by Lynn Nottage and reveals a personal look at Michael Jackson, the man, the son, the brother, the musical sensation and eventually the King of Pop. Jordan Markus embodies the very soul of Michael as a music creator, a defiant task master, an aloof businessman, a trickster, a dancer obsessed with perfection and a man whose very essence became immortal. Michael Jackson lives on through his impersonators of various ages and from various stages of his life.
Thankfully the MJ musical is inclusive of Michael Jackson’s early days with the Jackson 5, through their evolution to The Jacksons and appropriately extends to the kaleidoscope of Michael Jackson’s solo career.
At the helm is director and choreographer Christopher Weldon. Strong performances recreate Michael’s iconic hit songs and videos such as Thriller, Beat It, Billy Jean, Dancing Machine, Bad, Human Nature and many more. In life, Michael Jackson gave it all. The cast of MJ follows suit. Jordan Markus is a force as MJ. The cast intertwines Michael’s dancers, family, team and reporters.
