JT Lady Jaguars secured a well-deserved 64-54 victory against Pearl Queens in the National Basketball League encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Wednesday.

Priscillar Nambogo dropped three of JT Lady Jaguars’ four long shots as they opened a six-point (20-14) at the end of the first stanza.

In the second quarter, the Pearl Queens put some pressure on the ball as they levelled the game (32-32) going into the long break.

After going toe to toe throughout the game, Shakirah Nanvubya’s clutch jumpshot gave the Lady Jaguars a narrow lead (45-43) going into the final period.

The Lady Jaguars clogged the paint forcing the Pearl Queens into the long shot. Shakirah Nanvubya gave the Kiira-based side a drive as they secured a 10-point victory.

Sarah Ageno showed up with a double-double dropping 13 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Nambogo (19 points) and Nanvubya (12 points) joined in double digits.

Jane Chisom (20 points), Djeneba Ballo (13 points) and Belinda Okoth (11 points) dropped double digits for the Pearl Queens.

Lady Jaguars out-rebounded (54-48) the Pearl Queens ensuring that they cleaned the glasses on either side of the court.
