National Basketball League (NBL) powerhouse, the City Oilers, have officially strengthened their backcourt by re-signing American point guard Patrick Rembert.
The club confirmed the acquisition via their official social media channels on Monday, stating simply, “Roster Update: Patrick Rembert joins the squad.”
Rembert is a familiar face for the Oilers faithful. He played a pivotal role in the team’s historic 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL) campaign, where the Ugandan champions made their debut on the continent’s grandest stage.
During that tournament, Rembert proved to be a reliable floor general, posting impressive averages of 15.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game
The veteran guard’s return provides the Oilers with much-needed depth and elite-level experience as the NBL season progresses.
Known for his poise under pressure, Rembert’s playmaking ability is expected to be a significant asset during the high-stakes atmosphere of the postseason.
While the club has confirmed his signing, it remains unclear whether Rembert will feature in the immediate second-round fixtures or if he is being reserved specifically for the business end of the campaign during the playoffs.
Regardless of his start date, his arrival sends a clear message to the rest of the league: the Oilers are fully committed to defending their throne.
