*Netflix held a special screening of the upcoming series “Man on Fire” at the Tudum Theater in Los Angeles on April 21, bringing together cast members and key creative figures ahead of the show’s debut. The event highlighted the action thriller’s upcoming release and offered attendees an early look at its first episode.
Among those in attendance were executive producer and star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, cast members Billy Blanco Jr. and Polly Marinho, showrunner and writer Kyle Killen, and director of Episodes 1 and 2 Steven Caple Jr.. The gathering marked a major promotional moment for the seven-episode series ahead of its global release.
Following the screening of the first episode, guests participated in a live podcast taping of “Higher Learning” hosted by Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay. The discussion featured both Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Steven Caple Jr., providing insight into the making of the series and its central themes.
“Man on Fire” follows John Creasy, played by Abdul-Mateen II, a former Special Forces operative struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder while attempting to rebuild his life. As he searches for stability, he is pulled back into dangerous circumstances that force him to confront his past.
The series also stars Billie Boullet as Poe Rayburn, a teenager navigating life in Brazil who becomes connected to Creasy after witnessing a traumatic event. Alice Braga appears as Valeria Melo, a skilled driver with ties to criminal networks who becomes an important ally in Creasy’s mission.
Guest roles include Scoot McNairy as CIA operative Henry Tappan and Bobby Cannavale as former Special Forces soldier Paul Rayburn, both adding additional layers to the story’s conflict and intrigue.
Based on A.J. Quinnell’s novel series that began in 1980, “Man on Fire” is set to premiere on Netflix on April 30. Check out photos from the special screening below.
