A late-night altercation in Micoud has ended in tragedy, leaving one man dead and another in police custody. Investigators are working to piece together the events that unfolded.
According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, officers attached to the Micoud Police Station responded to a report of a fight in progress along Duke Street at approximately 9:26 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Emergency personnel from the Micoud Fire Station were also dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the altercation involved two males. One of the individuals had sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen. The injured man was identified as Lensley Samuel, also known as “Cizo,” a 44-year-old resident of Dugard, Micoud.
Fire service personnel administered emergency assistance before transporting Samuel to St Jude Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
Police have confirmed that one individual is currently in custody and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
The matter is now under active investigation by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Micoud Police Station. Authorities are appealing to members of the public who may have information to come forward. Individuals can contact the CID at the Vieux Fort Police Station at 456-3670, or provide anonymous tips via the RSLPF hotline at 555 or through the Crime Hotline App.
The incident adds to growing concerns about violent confrontations escalating into deadly outcomes, as law enforcement continues efforts to bring clarity and justice to the case.
