Northern Cape pedophile sentenced to 25 years for child rape
A 38-year-old man was sentenced to over 20 years in prison for rape and grooming a minor girl

A 38-year-old pedophile has been sentenced to over 25 years behind bars for raping and sexually grooming a 10-year-old girl at Kathu in the Northern Cape.
The man was arrested after a witness in the case saw recorded videos of the convicted man raping the minor. The witness alerted the minor’s mother who reported the matter to the police.
Provincial police spokesperson, Thabo Litabe says the minor was raped in February 2025.
“The Kathu regional court ultimately found the accused guilty and imposed the following sentences: Count one rape – 25 years imprisonment, of which five years are suspended on the condition that the accused is not convicted of a similar offence committed during the period of suspension. Count two sexual grooming of a minor – 10 years imprisonment. Count three creation or manufacture of child pornography material – 10 years imprisonment. The sentences imposed on counts two and three will run concurrently with the sentence imposed in count one.”
