College football has arrived, and there have already been some big moments in the opening week, like Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes mounting a comeback and a last-second win against Georgia Tech.

Or Michigan’s controversial Hail Mary win over Western Michigan.

Or Lane Kiffin’s LSU debut, embarrassing Dabo Swinney’s Clemson 51-10.

But the one that’s got social media in a frenzy is Marcus Freeman.

Sure, his Notre Dame Fighting Irish put the Wisconsin Badgers down with a 41-13 routing, yet college football fans were more focused on his hairline.

While talking to the media at Lambeau Field, he showed a new cut: instead of his signature short curls, he had classic waves and a fade. Only his hairline was a little too perfect and looked sharpened with some dye.

He’s shown off that enhanced hairline before, and Cam Hayward even asked about it on his Not Just Football podcast back in July.

Freeman wasn’t scared to admit that, with age, he’s needed some assistance to keep his corners as crisp as possible.

“You can put a little magic in there to keep the line sharp,” he said. “Mike T., he’s the one that put it in the world. But hey, you start thinning out in the corners; you gotta make sure the corners are straight. You gotta put a little enhancement.”

He even cracked jokes at his own expense over fears that it’s not waterproof, saying he’ll gladly be “proactive” by throwing on a hat if there’s rain in the forecast.

There’s no way of knowing if this is just his season debut look or he’ll keep the dye job up throughout this year’s campaign.

Either way, the jokes —which clearly aren’t bothering him— are plentiful.
