The death of Walvis Bay pastor and biker community figure Petrus “Pietie” Fox has been felt across Namibia’s biking community, according to Nambiker founder Rousseau “Ross” Hill.
Fox died on 9 June at the age of 70.
Hill says the reaction within the biker circles shows the respect Fox had built over the years and the strong bonds within the community.
“From what I have observed, Pietie will be remembered as a passionate biker who shared a love for the road, camaraderie, and the spirit of the biking community,” Hill says.
He says Fox’s death has been reflected on by riders across Namibia, including those who did not know him personally, but who recognise his presence in the local biking environment.
Fox, who was based at Walvis Bay, combined his pastoral work with involvement in the local biking community.
Fox is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family.
