Ghana’s U17 women’s national team, the Black Maidens, delivered a composed and clinical performance on the road, securing a 2-0 victory over Togo to kick-start their FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign in emphatic fashion.
The breakthrough arrived early in the contest, as Priscilla Mensah capped off a well-orchestrated team move in the 16th minute. Demonstrating pure composure, the forward applied a calm finish to hand Ghana a deserved lead and set the tone for a dominant display.
Ghana maintained control for large spells of the encounter, combining defensive discipline with purposeful attacking transitions. Their persistence paid off again in the 64th minute when Mensah struck for the second time.
