‘Raising Kanan’ Recap: Marvin Spirals + Jukebox Makes a Bold Move

In the latest episode of “Raising Kanan,” Marvin continues to spiral, and Stefano sics Kanan on Raq. Here is the recap for “Tricks.” 

Jukebox makes Detective Garcia an offer.

The episode begins with Kanan and Breeze approaching Unique’s men on the corner that used to be his. Unique’s crew blames Breeze and Kanan for Akbar’s death. However, Breeze tells them they had nothing to do with Akbar being put down (that was Marvin). But this corner now belongs to Breeze and Kanan since Unique is on the run. After one of Unique’s men says the corner is his, Breeze kills him. 

Meanwhile, Marvin joins Raq for her meeting with Flossie and the women she recommended to move their drugs in Manhattan. Flossie later invites Marvin out alone for a drink. 

Jukebox angers Detective Garcia when she pops up on him as he is walking into his house. He becomes angry when Jukebox mentions his children and baby on the way. After she offers him the opportunity to make more money and live a better life, Garcia tells her never to come to his home again.

Kanan tells Juke he is done with Raq. 

Pino meets with Stefano out of courtesy to let him know he is now working with Raq since he brought Flossie into the mix. It’s nothing personal, but they will be making a lot of money together. Stefano blames Raq for Russo stabbing him. However, Pino tells Stefano that the drama he got caught up in when he was messing around in Jersey is one hundred percent on him, not Raq. 

Kanan tells Juke that he now has doubts that Raq was behind Famous’ death. When he mentioned it to cops the other day, they didn’t even know who Famous was. Juke isn’t swayed by this and tells Kanan that cops lie often. 

She asks him how he’s been processing Lou Lou’s death. Kanan says he is “****** up.” But he doesn’t tell her that he was the one who pulled the trigger. 

Juke says Marvin has really been taking it hard. He doesn’t sleep or talk much anymore. 

As far as Kanan is concerned, Raq is dead to him whether she is behind Famous and Krystal’s deaths or not. 

Stefano sics Kanan on Raq. 

Marvin goes to a barbershop to find out where Unique is and is dismayed by multiple people telling him that they heard that Kanan is working with Unique and a man named Breeze. 

Breeze gives Kanan all of Unique’s old corners and whispers that his ultimate plan is to replace all the “old ******.””

Marvin confronts Kanan about what he was told at the barbershop. Kanan tells Marvin that Unique didn’t kill Lou and Breeze isn’t working with Unique. After Kanan offers Marvin a job with him and Breeze, he snaps. Marvin tells Kanan that he works for him and that he is above him. 

When he tells Raq about his conversation with Kanan, she tells him Kanan was likely right about Unique leaving. It’s time for Marvin to let Unique go. 

Stefano tells Kanan that Raq is embarrassing him by taking her drug business to Manhattan after he banned her from Queens. He wants Kanan to deal with this. 

Kanan starts the job. 

Garcia accepts Juke’s offer and hands her his price written on a piece of paper. He warns her not to set him up, or he will kill her. 

Marvin comes home angry after his talk with a pastor didn’t do anything to calm him down. Juke tells him that Lou’s death has been bothering her as well. After everything that has happened, she wants to stay next to Marvin and work with him so she can have his back. He tells her he loves her before they hug. 

Marvin shows Juke the ins and outs of the club so she can get her feet wet in their drug business. He didn’t want the life for her, but she insists that she is doing it for them. She later has a cold encounter with Raq, who points out her hypocrisy in working there after she judged Raq’s business. 

The episode ends with Kanan meeting one of Raq’s female employees from the club.
