Don’t let a less-than-perfect credit score stop you from thinking about buying a home. It’s one of the biggest misconceptions out there.

A lot of people come to me thinking they need perfect credit to even start the process. The truth is, real options are available. Programs backed by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) are designed to help buyers who may not have perfect credit.

I’ve worked with clients who thought they were “not ready,” but after reviewing their credit and finances, they were much closer than they expected. Sometimes just making a few small adjustments — like paying down a balance or correcting something on a credit report — can make a big difference.

As I tell my clients, your credit score is just one piece of the puzzle. Lenders also look at your income, job stability, and overall financial picture. You don’t have to figure it out on your own — that’s what I’m here for.
