MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Arusha, Tanzania on Saturday leading a delegation to attend the 25th summit of heads of state of the East African Community (EAC).
This year’s summit of the regional bloc is expected to focus on key agendas, including strengthening regional cooperation in areas such as the economy, security, trade and politics.
The meeting comes weeks after the East African Legislative Assembly approved Somalia’s delegates for the first time following complaints that they had been selected through corrupt and nepotism-based methods, delaying their inclusion in the bloc’s assembly.
