Cricket Cranes had to dig deep for their second win on their tour to Mumbai. The visitors defeated the Mumbai Colts XI by 33 runs to take a two-nil lead in the five-match 50-Over series.
The hosts won the toss and elected to bowl first. Raghav Dhawan (25) got a start that wasn’t converted in his 63-run opening stand with Simon Ssesazi.
The innings for Uganda were anchored by Simon Ssesazi, who notched up a well-constructed knock of 124 off 134 balls and was littered with 10 boundaries and 4 maximums.
Dinesh Nakrani (50) picked up his second half-century of the series with some support from skipper Fred Achelam (22) and youngster Gerald Olipa (33).
The Cricket Cranes were able to pile on 299/9, just one run shy of the 300 runs in their quota of 50 Overs.
In the run chase, the hosts were in control in the early proceedings, and they were within the required rate till 163/3 inside 29 overs.
Juma Miyaji (4/34), in his second spell, tore through the heart of the middle order to put the visitors in control. Cosmas Kyewuta (3/43) backed him up well as the visitors dug deep to get over the line and win by 33 runs.
The Cricket Cranes made one change in the squad from the first game, with Alpesh Ramjani making way for Sirajje Nsubuga.
The visitors will be back in action on Friday in their third 50 Over game of the series.
