DODOMA: THE Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr Ngwaru Maghembe, has participated in the Extraordinary Meeting of Ministers of the SADC Organ Troika on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, which was held virtually.
The meeting focused on discussing the security situation in the SADC region and identifying measures to strengthen peace, stability, and cooperation among member states.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr Maghembe commended SADC for its ongoing efforts to safeguard peace, enhance security, and support the resolution of emerging conflicts within the region.

He emphasized that Tanzania will continue to cooperate with and support SADC initiatives aimed at ensuring that peace and stability are maintained across the region.
The SADC Organ Troika on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation consists of three member states: Malawi as the current Chairperson, Eswatini as the incoming Chairperson, and Tanzania as the outgoing Chairperson.
The Organ is responsible for overseeing political, defence, and security matters, with the mandate of promoting and maintaining peace, stability, and security among SADC member states.
