The monthly London Sewing Machine Museum Open Day is happening this Saturday, 6th June2026

It’s one of London’s more eccentric museums and it’s hardly ever open, with the doors opening for just a few hours on the first Saturday of every month.

London Sewing Machine Museum in south London is open

As the name suggests, the museum is devoted to the history of the sewing machine, and you can visit next on Saturday, 6th June 2026.

Located next to Tooting Bec tube station, the museum displays over 600 machines, with the collection being amassed by the Managing Director of the Wimbledon Sewing Machine Co Ltd, Mr Ray Rushton, over a period of 50 years.

Entry is free, although a donation in one of the charity tins is appreciated. Oh, and if anyone does go along, please take your camera as we’d love to run a photo feature on Buzz!
