TransNamib suspends two executives over property mismanagement probe

TransNamib has temporarily suspended two of its executives over property mismanagement and statutory breaches.

The company said this in a statement released on Sunday.

“The TransNamib board confirms that it has resolved to temporarily suspend two executives, namely, executive of human capital Webster Gonzo and executive of properties Alynsia Platt,” the statement reads.

It says the board, in consultation with minister of works and transport Veikko Nekundi, affirms this decision as part of the ongoing process and to ensure transparency and integrity in the matter.

The suspension follows a forensic investigation related to property mismanagement, disposal irregularities, and statutory breaches.

The suspensions will remain in place pending disciplinary proceedings against the executives, as the investigation has been concluded, the statement says.

The company says it remains committed to good governance and continues to act in the best interests of the business and its stakeholders.

It says it believes this is the right decision under the circumstances and assures its commitment to transparency and integrity to its stakeholders and customers.
