If you’ve ever ever fancied trying out Morris Dancing, here’s your chance as local troupe the Brixton Tatterjacks are hosting an Open Practice in Brockwell Park this Sunday, 12th April 2026 at 11am.
Brixton Tatterjacks Morris are Brixton’s Morris side, established in 2017 who practice in Herne Hill every Tuesday night.
They have a busy schedule of events, performing at festivals, dance-outs and gigs throughout the year.
They told Brixton Buzz:
We are a diverse bunch, welcoming and LGBTQI+ -friendly, so do come and say hello, and join in the fun!
Our Open Practice is this coming Sunday in Brockwell Park, at the flat area near the Lido main entrance. If you can’t find us, listen for the bells
All are welcome, whether you’re new to Morris-dancing, or you’ve done it before. Who knows, you might decide to stick around and join us!
This open practice is FREE, and afterwards we’ll head to the pub.
