Vice president Lucia Witbooi on Friday night toured crime hotspots in Windhoek as part of a crime prevention programme.
The programme, which also airs on a local radio station, focuses on road safety, curbing drunk driving, and strengthening neighbourhood security.
Witbooi says the tour provided first-hand insight into alcohol abuse and road safety challenges in the capital.
“Such engagements put the government in a better position to make informed decisions, particularly in tackling alcohol abuse among the youth,” she says.
Following the tour, the vice president expressed concern over rising alcohol abuse among young people, urging them to avoid destructive behaviour and focus on education for a better future.
According to COPPS 94.1, the visit formed part of a special behind-the-scenes patrol.
