2 Da Max, LFX stay unbeaten in Coast 2 Coast Netball

The second round of Netball Saint Lucia’s Coast 2 Coast Netball Tournament took place on Saturday, May 16, at the Vigie Sports Complex in Castries. In the senior division, 2 Da Max Netball Academy and LFX Netballers both won by large margins. In the junior division, Little Sisters and Ruby Red Darlings came out on top.

In their tournament debut, 2 Da Max used their athleticism to take control  in centre court against Shamrock Seniors. With strong shooting from Semaj Marguerite and Shem Maxwell, they won 46-13. The match included members of the sport’s executive committee on both teams.

LFX Ballers earned their second straight win by beating Kanawi Ballers 45-13. The LFX team includes several current and former national players, such as national captain Melika Destang. This was the first loss for Canaries, who had won their opening match in April.

Little Sisters handed White Blazers a second consecutive loss, winning 25-9. Behind a strong effort from Beanefield Comprehensive shooter Jerannie Marquis, Desruisseaux’s Ruby Red Darlings beat Shamrock Juniors 13-8.

In the opening round of competition on April 25 in Canaries, Shamrock Juniors defeated White Blazers 7-5. LFX beat the Windward Islands School Games team 40-25. And Kanawi Ballers won against Shamrock Seniors, 24-11.

The next leg of the Coast to Coast competition is set for Fond St Jacques on Saturday, May 30.
