Acado St. Lucia Bets on Veteran Executive Sunil Maharaj to Drive Growth

Acado Limited announces the appointment of Mr. Sunil N. Maharajh as Chief Executive Officer of Acado St. Lucia, effective immediately. Mr. Maharajh assumes responsibility for leading the company’s operations in Saint Lucia and driving the next phase of growth, operational excellence, and customer service across the business.  

Mr. Maharajh is a highly accomplished Caribbean business leader with more than thirty years of executive and entrepreneurial experience across the retail, manufacturing and security services sectors. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong ability to lead organizations through complex business environments, improving operational performance, and building high-performing teams.  

Commenting on the appointment, Christopher Alcazar, Group Chief Executive Officer of Acado Limited, said:

Prior to joining Acado St. Lucia, Mr. Maharajh served as Chief Executive Officer of Eastern Commercial Lands Limited (Tru-Valu), where he successfully led the organization through a highly challenging period, stabilizing operations, rebuilding stakeholder confidence, and strengthening the company’s market position. He has also held senior leadership positions with Sure-Tech Services, Hi-Lo Food Stores, Amalgamated Security Services, and Securicor (G4S Trinidad), gaining extensive experience in commercial strategy, operations, supply chain management, customer engagement, and organizational transformation.

Mr. Maharajh holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Heriot-Watt 

University and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Industrial Management from The University of the West Indies. He has also served as Vice President of the Supermarkets Association of Trinidad and Tobago, contributing to the development of the retail sector and broader business community.  

The appointment reflects Acado’s ongoing commitment to investing in strong leadership, developing talent, and strengthening its operations across the Caribbean. Under Mr. Maharajh’s leadership, Acado St. Lucia will continue to focus on operational excellence, customer-centricity, sustainable growth, and building strategic partnerships that support long-term success.
