What happens when someone trained to format buildings applies that same eye to bodies, silhouettes, and how women want to move through the world in their clothes? We find out through the work of Cederick Campbell. Over the past year, the Detroit-based stylist has become a go-to voice in women’s fashion, particularly on socials, where he shares styling tips, fashion inspo, and hilarious OOTDs with his twin brother, Mac.

Campbell will tell you upfront that he never wanted to be a practicing architect. The licensing timeline alone was enough to send him running toward fashion. But the training stuck. Once he found the throughline between his professional and personal interests, the rest was history.

Don’t get it twisted. Campbell is not translating menswear rules onto women’s style. He’s applying a completely different discipline to how women get dressed. His approach to styling through an architectural lens is less about buildings and more about the design principles followed to make them. With New York Fashion Week upon us, he dished on his top four to help you confidently build the perfect fit.
