By Zoila Palma: The Benque Viejo Town Council, in collaboration with local entrepreneurs, is inviting residents and visitors to come out this Saturday, September 12, for the Benque Viejo Pre-Independence Market Day, as the community kicks off its Independence celebrations with a day and night of entertainment.
The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to midnight at the Market Day venue in front of Cancha Marshalleck.
Residents will have an opportunity to support local entrepreneurs while enjoying food, drinks, shopping and entertainment throughout the day.
The evening entertainment will include live open music at Market Square featuring DJs Saul, Cris and Blue.
The Benque Viejo Marching Band is also scheduled to deliver a live performance at 10:00 p.m.
There is also a special beer promotion, with three beers for $10, beginning at 9:00 p.m.
The Benque Viejo Town Council and participating entrepreneurs are encouraging the public to come out, support local businesses and enjoy an evening of music, culture and community as Belizeans prepare to celebrate Independence Day.
