*Harvest Studios is expanding its push into multi-camera comedy with a new project titled “Boo’d Up,” a four-episode sitcom created in partnership with actor, writer, and producer Duane Martin. The series marks a notable collaboration between Martin and Harvest Studios as the company continues to invest in traditional sitcom formats.

According to the news release, the project will be executive produced by Harvest Studios founder Bentley Kyle Evans, co-founder Trenten Gumbs, and Martin himself, with Evans also set to direct all four episodes. Production is scheduled to take place on Harvest Studios’ soundstages in Northridge, California, further anchoring the company’s in-house production capabilities.

“We believe there’s a major opportunity to re-establish multi-camera comedy as appointment viewing,” said Evans, per the news release. “Harvest Studios is building a home for bold, culturally resonant sitcoms. Boo’d Up is exactly the kind of show that studios and streamers need and that audiences have been missing. We’re not just creating shows, we’re making a pipeline and looking for strategic distribution partners to help build with us.”

“Boo’d Up” centers on Reggie, played by Carl Anthony Payne, a man navigating life after divorce who believes romance may be behind him. His perspective shifts when he meets Zoe, a widowed mother played by Apryl Jones, whose life is complicated by an unexpected supernatural twist. Zoe’s late husband Jake, portrayed by Duane Martin, returns as a ghost who refuses to fully let go of his family.

The storyline blends romantic comedy with supernatural elements as the characters attempt to navigate grief, love, and an unconventional blended family dynamic. The series is designed as a high-concept multi-cam comedy that mixes emotional storytelling with comedic chaos.

The ensemble cast also features Vanessa Bell Calloway, Varonica Mitchell, and Kaden J. Quinn, with Carl Anthony Payne also serving as a producer on the project.

“This is a full-circle moment for me,” said Martin. “Comedy is where I started, and getting to return to it in a fresh, unexpected way—with Bentley and Trenten’s Harvest Studios—feels like the right project at the right time.”
