Brian Ssenyondo believes international break has done team well

KCCA FC head coach Brian Ssenyondo is highly optimistic that the recent two-week international break has provided his team with the necessary time to address their early-season struggles. Prior to the break, the Kasasiro Boys had a rough start to the campaign, registering only one victory in four matches and scoring just a single goal.

As they prepare for a short away trip to the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo to face URA FC, Ssenyondo viewed this interval as a crucial period to compensate for an incomplete pre-season.

“Tough fixture it is always for us but we shall find a way to win,” said Ssenyondo.

“The two-week international break is one we needed and I believe it has helped us work on a lot of things and we are prepared very well to attack the team and now that we have not been doing well, it makes the fixture very hard but we shall do all it takes to continue the winning run since we got our first win,” he explained.

Despite their earlier success in winning the FUFA Super 8, the head coach acknowledged that the squad had looked disjointed when the league kicked off.

“The weeks have helped us to compensate the pre-season and the first four matches we didn’t look as a team after the super 8 but hopefully we present ourselves well as a team.”

The Kasasiro, aiming to end a seven-year league trophy drought will miss the services of injured Ettiene Katenga, Nana Kwikiriza, Hassan Mood and Ssozi Derrick as the per the coach but he still has a good squad to pick from.

KCCA are placed 12th on the table with four points while URA are two positions below with three points.
