Crinums Continue Red-Hot Form as Second Power Week Heats Up

As the Telkom Netball League intensifies, the Crinums are continuing to look stronger with every outing as they are still unbeaten.

Johannesburg, South Africa (29 May 2026) – The Free State Crinums are showing absolutely no signs of slowing down in this year’s Telkom Netball League.

As the competition rolled into the second Power Week at Ellis Park Arena in Johannesburg, the unbeaten Crinums once again reminded everyone why they remain one of the teams to beat after a 59-37 victory over the North West Flames.

From the very first whistle, the Crinums were in control. combinations. By the end of the first quarter, the Crinums had already opened up a commanding 19-8 lead. The unbeaten side continued to dictate the pace throughout the match, combining disciplined defence with smooth attacking movement to keep the Flames chasing the game for most of the afternoon.

The Crinums were the inaugural Telkom Netball League champions and went on to dominate the early years of the competition by winning three successive titles between 2014 and 2016. After a few seasons away from the top, they returned to the summit again in 2024 to secure a fourth league crown.

And judging by their current form, they are looking every bit like serious contenders once again.

One player who once again stole the spotlight was Xandri Fourie.

The goal attack delivered another influential performance in attack, helping control the flow into the shooting circle while also earning her fourth Player of the Match award of the season.

With another convincing win now added to their growing list, the Crinums continue to build serious momentum as the Telkom Netball League heats up.
