Getting your Trinity Audio player ready… It looks like “Big Mama” is officially a mama. Rapper Latto shared a video on social media on Monday, May 18, that suggests that she may have given birth. In the clip, the 27-year-old rapper shared special moments from her pregnancy, starting with her telling loved ones in Tokyo that she was expecting.
“Doesn’t feel real, does it?” she asked them, before revealing, “I’m pregnant.”
Other moments shared in the video included footage of an ultrasound at 13 weeks, Latto at the studio while 27 weeks pregnant, and celebrity friends like Usher, Sexyy Red, and Angel Reese guessing her baby’s gender at the baby shower. Rapper 21 Savage, who is alleged to be her partner and the father of her child, was also featured in the video, including at the shower.
“She literally made a whole album in her stomach for you — your mother is the hardest working woman,” one friend said to the camera.
Latto was indeed active during her pregnancy. She did some traveling, spending some time sunbathing in Antigua at 27 weeks and in Jamaica at 29 weeks. The new mom also stayed active while carrying her little one. She was captured lifting weights at 32 weeks. The video ended with ‘5/29’ written across the screen, the date her fourth studio album, Big Mama, is supposed to be released, and audio of people telling her to “push” during delivery. We still don’t know the baby’s gender or name, but hopefully, we’ll learn more very soon…

The pregnancy announcement also seemingly confirmed rumors that the 27-year-old was dating 21 Savage since his hand appeared on her belly in her “Business & Personal” music video. The Grammy winner already has sons named Kamari and Ashaad with Keyanna Joseph, and a daughter named Rhian.
Latto’s new bundle is the inspiration for her upcoming album, and her little one motivated her to lock in and work harder.
“I was already thinking about naming my album Big Mama, and then I found out about you, and it just — everything fell into place,” she said in the latest clip.
Latto will be back on stage soon, including as a performer at the ESSENCE Festival of Culture on Friday, July 3.
