Rated the top coolest neighbourhood in the UK by Time Out, Camberwell is also becoming one of the top food destinations in London, with new Michelin star restaurant Kerfield Arms and an inviting range of eateries – as seen on The Go-To Food channel.
This year’s annual food festival: Eat Around the World on Camberwell Green promises to bring another hot global culinary adventure to Camberwell.
They say (deep breath):
From the fiery spices of Asia and the hearty, soulful dishes of Africa, to the zestful flavours of Latin America, the heat of the Caribbean and the aromatic cuisine of the Middle East and Mediterranean – on Saturday 16th May, Camberwell Green becomes a world food map, with every stall another country, every bite another journey.
Now in its third year, Eat Around the World is already a significant cultural event in south London’s calendar, with 7,000 visitors in 2025.
Hosting more than 80 stalls, this year’s global flavour fest also features four bars, live music, free family fun and games, art & crafts stalls & workshops, a free community lunch as well as a farmers’ market, with fresh-farm produce, hand-grown plants and herbs, and hyperlocal delights made in SE5.
The new free Camberwell Life App will also be showcasing what’s on offer at the festival, with culinary tours around each continent.
The organisers say this is what you can expect:
- Diverse global flavours: food that breaks boundaries and unites us in diversity and passion. With food stalls from Brazil to Venezuela by way of Madagascar, Tanzania and the Caribbean.
- Four thirst-quenching bars from local businesses – craft beers, wine tastings, bubble tea, freshly-squeezed juices, Pimms and cocktails.
- Farm-to-fork local produce at the Camberwell Green farmers’ market – including farm-fresh produce, artisan and deli delights, plants and herbs.
- Hyperlocal food – honey, jam, mead & more made a stone’s throw from Camberwell Green.
- Online Camberwell Food Map featuring SE5’s fantastic food scene, with 90 eateries serving up flavours from around the globe.
- Sign-ups to our bestselling Camberwell Food Walks exploring Camberwell’s exciting food destinations.
- Support Local, Taste Global – an opportunity for visitors to support Camberwell’s independent food businesses and multicultural community through a feast for all senses.
- Live music – Relaxing sounds and beats with traditional Scottish music MICHTY! and sound system Mr Swing Easy.
- Free family fun – Bouncy castles, zorb balls, penalty shoot-out and more from Amuru children’s charity, plus face painting and art and crafts.
- Art & crafts stalls & workshops – from heavenly lavender to handmade gifts and free activities.
- Camberwell community comes together – a FREE community lunch from Spring Community Hub food charity, bike marking from the local Met Police and a range of community stalls.
