By Zoila Palma: The Belize Beef Fest & Rodeo will feature a grilling competition on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the National Agriculture Showgrounds in Belmopan, giving grill masters an opportunity to showcase their culinary skills and compete for cash prizes.
The competition, organized as part of the Belize Beef Fest & Rodeo, will include three categories: beef, pork and lamb.
Participants will compete for a top prize of $1,000, while the second-place winner will receive $500 and the third-place winner will take home $250.
The Belize Livestock Producers Association (BLPA) says that cash prizes have increased, with the second-place prize rising from $300 to $500 and the third-place prize increasing from $200 to $250.
Registration costs $100 per category, and interested participants are encouraged to register by calling 672-5275.
The event is expected to bring together food enthusiasts, livestock producers, families and members of the public for a day celebrating Belize’s cattle and agricultural industries.
