Hands Off NYC: We Are “Facing An Increase In ICE Activity Across The 5 Boroughs”

In response, Hae-Lin Choi, Co-Founder of Hands Off NYC, released the following statement: “Across American cities, we’ve seen what ICE’s occupation looks like: excessive force, unlawful abductions, families ripped apart, civil rights violations, and executions in the streets. What we have witnessed this week is an uptick of what we’ve known to be true — ICE is in our neighborhoods, in our courts, and in our city. “While facing an increase in ICE activity across the 5 boroughs, New Yorkers have come together in full force to make it clear: ICE is not welcome here. From Bushwick to Inwood, we’ve also seen that rapid response works. New York City won’t be intimidated — we will continue to stand together, be courageous, and protect our neighbors.” In the coming days, Hands Off NYC encourages New Yorkers to report ICE sightings to the hotline +1 (229) 304-8720, join neighborhood groups, and plug into Know Your Rights trainings.
