Lisa Kudrow reveals ‘Friends’ cast earns $20m in annual residuals 22 years after the show ended

Twenty-two years after the final episode of Friends aired, Lisa Kudrow, one of the sitcom’s six cast members, has revealed that the cast each earns an eye-watering amount of money per year from residuals.

The first episode of the popular sitcom aired in September 1994 and lasted over 10 seasons until 2004.

The show catapulted Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer to superstardom.

Friends is syndicated all over the world, raking in millions of dollars for the producers and cast.

Daily Mail reports that Kudrow revealed an incredible amount of money, $20 million (R331 655 000) to be exact, the cast still makes from the show, in an interview with The Times.

The actors have moved on to do different projects since the show ended, with 62-year-old Kudrow currently starring in the HBO mockumentary series, The Comeback.

Losing one of the Friends

In May 2024, Matthew Perry was found unresponsive in his pool at the age of 54, sparking an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues, reported The South African.

An autopsy found the cause of his death was “the acute effects of ketamine,” a controlled drug which the recovering addict was understood to be taking as part of supervised therapy.

Authorities later arrested five individuals in connection with the tragic passing of the Friends star, a year after they found him dead at his Los Angeles home.
