A man was shot and killed in Marchand on Sunday night, only hours before his birthday.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force said officers from the Marchand Police Station responded to a report of a shooting near the entrance of Mindoo Phillip Park around 10:15 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying on his back with gunshot wounds to his head, abdomen and thigh. He was taken by ambulance to Owen King EU Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:24 p.m.
The victim has been identified as Jordon Lansiquot from Millet, Anse La Raye.
The shooting happened just a few hours before Lansiquot’s birthday, making the loss even harder for his family and friends.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact the Marchand Police Station at 456-3885. Anonymous tips can also be given by calling the Crime Hotline at 555 or using the Crime Hotline app.
The reason for the shooting is still unknown.
