Rüfüs Du Sol Is the First Electronic Artist to Hit These Major Boxscore Milestones

From March 2025 through September 2026, Rüfüs du Sol’s Inhale/Exhale World Tour played arenas, amphitheaters and stadiums across four continents, leading the way to record-breaking success. After wrapping on Sept. 5 in Toronto, it is officially the biggest tour in Boxscore history by an electronic artist, in terms of gross revenue and total attendance.

According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, the Inhale/Exhale World Tour grossed $158 million and sold 1.7 million tickets. That makes it the highest grossing and bestselling electronic tour ever, becoming the genre’s first trek to gross more than $100 million (and $150 million), and to sell more than 1 million (and 1.5 million) tickets.

Rüfüs du Sol surpasses another group from halfway around the world, far eclipsing ODESZA’s The Last Goodbye Tour, which earned $56.3 million and sold 801,000 tickets from 2022 to 2024.

The Inhale/Exhale World tour pushes Rüfüs du Sol’s career takes to $173.7 million and 1.9 million tickets sold, cementing the Australian trio as the highest grossing and bestselling electronic act in Boxscore history, and the first such artist to surpass $100 million in career grosses. By revenue, Illenium and ODESZA follow with reports of $88.3 million and $75.4 million, respectively. By attendance, Tiësto is next up with 1.3 million tickets sold.

Rüfüs du Sol has built something unique among electronic artists. By touring the world in hard-ticket venues on different continents, the band has broken Boxscore ground for its genre. Live concerts have always been a pillar of dance/electronic artists’ careers but many, if not most, of the biggest acts from the 2000s and 2010s grew their audiences at festivals and clubs in Las Vegas, Miami and beyond.

In the 2020s, Rüfüs du Sol has joined Illenium and Odesza, as well as burgeoning live acts such as Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. by scaling their reach via solo headline shows (or co-headline engagements, such as July 2021’s post-pandemic team-up from Excision, Illenium, Kaskade and Tiësto at Denver’s Mile High Stadium). The group’s headline routing was still able to encompass festivals such as this year’s Bonnaroo and Outside Lands, and club dates in Cannes and Ibiza, though those stops do not count toward the tour’s totals.

The Inhale/Exhale World Tour has transcended international electronic hubs by playing 54 shows in the United States and Canada, 21 in Europe, 13 in Oceania and 10 across Latin America. The tour’s final leg in North America was its biggest, bringing in $71.8 million from 693,000 tickets over 31 dates. That included select nights in stadiums, such as Folsom Field ($4.8 million; 45,700 tickets) in Boulder, Colo., Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros ($6.5 million; 64,400 tickets) and closing night at Toronto’s Rogers Centre ($4.9 million; 43,500 tickets).
