Mauritania Elected as Member of Executive Council AIDSMO

Mauritania participated in the 29th session of the General Assembly of the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization, and Mining (AIDSMO), which took place in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, from July 14 to 16.

Mauritania was represented at the meetings of this session by the Ambassador of Mauritania to the State of Libya, Mr. Sidi Yahya Cheikhna Lemrabet, accompanied by the Director of Industrial Development and Promotion at the Ministry of Minerals and Industry, Mr. Babacar Mohamed Baba.

The session renewed several of the organization’s leadership bodies. Member states elected the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Executive Council, the organization’s highest executive body after the General Assembly. Additionally, voters elected Engineer Youssef Al-Maliki as the organization’s Director General, who succeeds Engineer Adel Al-Saqr upon the conclusion of his term.

During the session, the Mauritanian delegation reaffirmed Mauritania’s commitment to actively contributing to joint Arab efforts, strengthening industrial cooperation, and supporting initiatives aimed at achieving integration and sustainable development in the Arab region.
