Republicans are already preparing for life after Trump's term ends. Now, meet the young, new-- and Black-- faces of MAGA who will likely lead their party. The post Meet the Young, Black MAGA Leaders and Influencers Bound to Take Over After Trump Leaves Office first appeared on The Root.
While the Democratic Party is still recovering from their 2024 presidential loss, it seems the Republicans have been busy preparing the next generation of conservatives. And surprise, surprise… many of them are Black!
The rise of Black conservatism has been slowly but surely becoming a reality in America. After Trump’s historic presidential win last year, more Black folks have been swinging towards the right, which is a shocking deviant from past election cycles, NPR reported. Folks like CJ Pearson and Candace Owens are the new face of young, Black MAGA.
Now, here’s everything you should know about the new leaders within the GOP. Many of these names you may already know, but you’ll be sure to discover up and coming Black MAGA faces, who are keeping their party afloat.
Janiyah Thomas, 27
Janiyah Thomas previously ran Black media during President Trump’s 2024 campaign. She was once a Democrat, but switched to Republican after 2020. Her dad told her to “think for yourself. Stop sitting here looking at the news all day,” she recalled during an interview. “He was like, ‘Do your own research.'”
That’s when Thomas realized most of her views were extremely conservative. Ever since then, she’s been an advocate for President Trump and the rising Black conservative movement.
CJ Pearson, 23

CJ Pearson is arguably the face of young, Black MAGA. At just 23 years old, the Georgia native has already solidified himself as an outspoken and often controversial figure. He once served as the co-chair of the Republican National Committee Youth Advisory Council and has had his fair share of televised interviews.
Pearson is most famous for his videos bashing Black liberals while praising Black conservatives. “Have y’all ever noticed that Black people on the left love to hate white people in the streets but love them in the sheets?” he asked during a podcast episode.
Mat Nuclear, 18
An 18-year-old conservative went viral over the summer after debating Amanda Seales on reparations for Black Americans. He goes by the alias “Mat Nuclear” online, and many conservatives including political commentator Ben Shapiro have expressed interest in his story, especially because Nuclear has only been having political debates for the last six months. He has over 18,000 followers on TikTok.
Candace Owens, 36

Love her or hate her, there’s no question that conservative podcaster Candace Owens is one of the most notable voices in the Republican Party. After being fired from The Daily Wire last year over her antisemitic comments, Owens has garnered a bevy of support for her political views and conspiracy theories. Her platform caught the attention of officials in Australia, who banned her from the country, and she’s even being sued by the French president, we previously told you.
Owens still considers herself a MAGA supporter despite her critiques of Trump and recent dissent following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
@q_patriot on TikTok
TikTok influencer @q_patriot keeps her real identity private, but she’s amassed over 14,700 followers on the app. She’s a proud MAGA supporter with nothing but great things to say about President Trump and his party.
Rob Smith, 43
Political commentator Rob Smith doesn’t consider himself Republican anymore after he became the subject to homophobic and racist hate speech from the party, according to Newsweek. But he said his undying support of Donald Trump “is a different story.”
In fact, Smith has been an avid supporter of Trump since his failed 2020 bid for presidency. Before then, Smith said he didn’t vote in 2016 and voted for former President Barack Obama twice. Smith is proud to be an Army veteran and an openly gay, Black man. But he said, ” I am also an American first.”
Erik Conyers, 25
Similar to Janiyah Thomas, Erik Conyers also works in the president’s camp. The 25-year-old is Trump’s fundraiser and event planner. He was raised in Virginia in a Democratic household, but he soon realized his politics didn’t agree with that of his relatives. “They think I’m crazy, but they still support me,” he told Vanity Fair. “We know what parameters we should and shouldn’t discuss.”
@themagaprincesss on TikTok
Princess Bella is capitalizing off the shocking fame she’s achieved since pledging her support for Trump. On TikTok, she has over 112,000 followers and she has thousands more on Instagram. Dubbed @themagaprincesss, Bella’s content revolves around Trump and her massive collection of MAGA hats.
Xaviaer DuRousseau, 28
Activist Xaviaer DuRousseau once marched in the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, but after he discovered PragerU– a conservative nonprofit organization– and Candace Owens, he realized he agreed with MAGA, the New York Times reported.
At the time, DuRousseau was set to star in Netflix’s “The Circle,” a reality TV competition show. But, he backed out. Now, DuRousseau is a proud MAGA supporter and member of the Republican National Committee’s youth advisory council.
Christian Newton

Christian Newton is the Chief of Staff for the Office of Science at the Department of Energy, according to his bio. The Texas A&M University alumnus has served as Chief of Staff at the Black Conservative Federation, worked in the House of Representatives and was previously a member of Trump’s presidential advance team.
Terrence K Williams, 34
Comedian Terrence K Williams has over 1.1 million followers on Instagram. He’s built his platform as a known supporter of Trump– who even shouted him out. Williams has been invited to the White House multiple times by the president’s team. Once, the comedian was invited to Trump’s Young Black Leadership Summit.
“I go to the White House today! The day that I go to the White House is the day that they notify me that my account may be in possible violations of hateful conduct. None of my conduct is hateful.” Williams said on X. He also penned an autobiography titled “From The Foster House To The White House.”
Emery Washington, 26

Emery Washington works as a deputy press secretary in the Department of Energy, and she’s already making a name for herself. Last year, Washington became the Black Media Affairs Coordinator under Trump and before that, she worked under Texas Rep. Randy Weber, according to her profile on LinkedIn.
Wicked Witch on TikTok
If you’ve seen any Jubilee debate videos including Trump supporters, than you may recognize this face. He goes by “Wicked Witch” on social media and is a self-proclaimed “MAGA gangster” and rockstar. He’s debated several notable political figures like actress Amanda Seales and online streamer Destiny. He has nearly 50,000 followers on TikTok.
