Alderman José G. Pérez is encouraging young people to consider attending the MKELove Summer Kickback – a FREE youth-led community event designed to connect young people with summer jobs, internships, wellness resources, and local programs – taking place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 13 at the Kosciuszko Community Center (Kozy Center), 2201 S. 7th St.
Alderman Pérez said the MKELove Summer Kickback will include food and refreshments, a live DJ, open mic and skill-building sessions, and poetry with Milwaukee Poet Laureate Shelly Conley. Other activities will feature creative art spaces, active play, and youth-led workshops.
“This event will also have sign-ups for summer camps, for jobs, and wellness support resources, and there will be free summer supply and hygiene kits for the first 150 young people as well,” Alderman Pérez said.
