MKP writes to Speaker requesting PP’s removal over handling of Phala Phala issue
It says IPID's investigation identified and ventilated serious issues.
The MKP says it has written to National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza requesting her to initiate a process to remove Public Protector Kholeka Gcaleka from office for incompetence and misconduct.
The party says it’s call arises from the Office of the Public Protector’s handling of the Phala Phala saga particularly when considered against the subsequent findings and investigative conclusions of the IPID.
It says IPID’s investigation identified and ventilated serious issues involving alleged abuse of state resources, irregular conduct by senior SAPS officials and other unlawful conduct which was not identified, insufficiently or not appropriately reffered by the Public Protector.
