Haitian elected officials, business leaders and community advocates gathered in Brooklyn to discuss how changing immigration policies are reshaping New York’s workforce and affecting Haitian families.

Haitian elected officials, New York City representatives, business leaders and community advocates gathered at Brooklyn College on July 30 to examine how shifting federal immigration policy is affecting New York’s workforce and the immigrant workers who sustain it.
The leadership breakfast, titled “Leading Labor in a Changing Immigration Landscape,” focused on the economic and human consequences of policy changes, including the end of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians. Speakers discussed the uncertainty facing Haitian families, employers and industries that rely heavily on immigrant labor.
