Prime Minister roots for Brazil in World Cup 2026

By Zoila Palma:  Prime Minister John Briceno says that his team has always been Brazil.

PM Briceno attended the World Cup opening in Mexico City and says that the experience was exciting.

“My team has always been Brazil, second Argentina, but it’s quite unlikely that they are going to get to the finals, so probably Spain.

I bought my own tickets. So, FIFA did not give any tickets, so, I bought my own tickets. I went to the opening and hopefully I’ll be able to see at least one more game,” the PM said.

PM Briceno said that the experience was exciting.

“It’s exciting. Mexico is exciting to be there and, um, we managed to get good seats. Well, it helped that, that each country has an amount of seats allotted to sell.

So, we managed to get tickets through here, or we paid for it. They’re not free. And, so we managed to get decent seats and it was an exciting game. Mexico played very well. It was their home, their home field,” the Prime Minister added.
