Geva, author of The Architecture of Modern American Synagogues, 1950s–1960s, for a presentation and conversation about the design of these remarkable postwar synagogues, why they remain architecturally significant and the challenges of preserving these mid-century landmarks for future generations. Geva also discusses how synagogue architecture is evolving today to balance openness and community with the need for security in an era of rising antisemitism.
