GONAÏVES —The seventh edition of the Christmas Market in Gonaïves opened on Dec. 19, bringing together local artisans, entrepreneurs, and the public for three days of holiday trade and cultural exchange. The market showcased national products, from handcrafted goods to specialty foods, while providing a platform for small-scale producers to connect with customers and strengthen the local economy.
Organized by INNOVA GROUP and CAOPHA, the market featured around 80 participants from different neighborhoods in the City of Independence. The event aimed to highlight Haitian craftsmanship while expanding the initiative’s economic and cultural reach. Vendors displayed a range of products, including handmade sandals, macramé, necklaces, bracelets, and locally produced chocolate, reflecting the skill and creativity of artisans across the region.
The market also featured unique food and drink offerings, including cocktails made with local spirits and cream, as well as traditional Haitian treats. Visitors had the opportunity to explore artisanal goods and seasonal products, including flower bouquets, Santa Claus toys, and red ribbons, which added a festive touch to the market space.
