BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 5, 2026 – Founder of Sugar Town Organics, Anastasha Elliott, has been named the recipient of the 2026 Caribbean POSH Wellness Innovation Icon Award, in recognition of her contributions to wellness, entrepreneurship, and the preservation of Caribbean heritage.

Announcing the achievement, Elliott described the award as a significant milestone in a journey that began in 2010 with just US$100, two cake pans, family knowledge, and a determination to make a difference.

“When I started Sugar Town Organics in 2010 with $100, two cake pans, family knowledge, and a desire to make a difference, I could not have imagined all the places this journey would take me,” Elliott said.

She noted that what began as a business focused on handcrafted products has evolved into a broader mission encompassing wellness, botanical innovation, heritage preservation, Caribbean foodways, education, entrepreneurship, experiential tourism, technology, and the development of Caribbean heritage wellness and longevity initiatives.

“I have always believed that our traditions and cultural knowledge have value—not only as memories of the past, but as foundations upon which we can build healthier people, stronger communities, and new Caribbean opportunities. This award means so much because it recognises that work,” she said.

Elliott expressed gratitude to Caribbean POSH for the recognition and thanked the many individuals who have supported her journey over the past 16 years, including customers, workshop participants, farmers, knowledge holders, collaborators, mentors, team members, family, and friends.

She also acknowledged everyone who voted, shared her campaign, and encouraged others to support her.

“This win belongs to a journey that began small but was never without purpose. From $100 and two cake pans to building a Caribbean Legacy House. We are still building, and I believe some of our most important work is still ahead of us,” Elliott said.

The Caribbean POSH Wellness Innovation Icon Award recognises individuals whose work is advancing innovation, wellness, and sustainable development across the Caribbean, while preserving and promoting the region’s rich cultural heritage.
