Suspected drugs found on abandoned Orange Walk lot

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in the Orange Walk District have recovered a quantity of suspected drugs found abandoned on a vacant lot, though no arrests were made.

According to the Belize Police Department, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at around 9:00 a.m., officers conducted a search on an abandoned lot on Maskal Street in Palmar Village. During the search, police reported finding a transparent plastic cup containing a bag of a white substance suspected to be crack cocaine, along with a separate bag holding 10 smaller zip bags of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.

With no one in the immediate area, the items were taken to the Orange Walk Police Station as found property.

At the station, police said the suspected crack cocaine was weighed at 10.3 grams, while the suspected cocaine amounted to 3.9 grams. The items were then sealed, labelled, and handed over as found property.

No one has been arrested or charged in connection with the discovery, and the matter remains a police matter.
