Texas Musician Angel White Releases “Lonestar Girl”

Listen to “LONESTAR GIRL” HERE. “LONESTAR GIRL” is a blues-soaked nod to Angel’s Texas roots. Inspired by Ray Charles, the track serves as an ode to the spirit of the Lone Star State. Co-written by GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter and fellow Texas native Jeffrey East (Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts), the single is rooted in tradition yet fresh in execution, blending classic blues influences with modern country storytelling. “LONESTAR GIRL is the story of the Texas belle, queen of the west,” said White of the track. “I’ve searched far and wide, high and low and she definitely lives in Texas so that’s where you can find me.” Tracked live with a full band at the legendary Arlyn Studios in Austin, the recording features Will Hooper on electric guitar, Carlos VanWees on lapsteel, Levi Scribner on bass, Nick Milligan on drums and Marcell Coleman on keys, whose collective musicianship gives the record both grit and lift. A standout harmonica performance anchors the track emotionally, a deliberate and deeply personal choice for White. “The harmonica moment was especially meaningful to me,” says White. “My great grandfather ‘Big Daddy’ was a blues harmonica player, so featuring that prominently felt like honoring both family legacy and Texas blues tradition. It’s fresh and familiar at the same time. We call it the people’s music.” White is currently the face of Wrangler’s 2026 national brushpopper campaign, with “LONESTAR GIRL” serving as the campaign’s official soundtrack. ABOUT ANGEL WHITE Angel White is a fifth-generation Texas cowboy, beekeeper, and singer/songwriter who blends folk, country, soul, and rock into a sound that reflects the vast landscapes of his upbringing and the untamed spirit of the West.  White is currently the face of Wrangler’s 2026 national brushpopper campaign, with his new single “LONESTAR GIRL” (out February 26, 2026) serving as the campaign’s official soundtrack. The Texas-born blues track honors both his family legacy—his great grandfather “Big Daddy” was a blues harmonica player—and the tradition of Texas blues music.  His debut album, GHOST OF THE WEST: THE ALBUM (2025), takes listeners on a journey through soulful melodies and introspective storytelling inspired by his hometown of Cleburne, TX, where his roots run deep with a family lineage of cowboys and a century-old tradition of raising horses.  After years busking in Deep Ellum, Texas, White discovered the power of his voice and began crafting narrative-driven songs. Throughout the album, he pays homage to the often-erased stories of Mexican, Black, and Native cowboys—historical figures unjustly sidelined from both history books and pop culture’s depiction of the American West.  White has toured with Marcus King, Shane Smith and the Saints, Flatland Cavalry (including Red Rocks), Whiskey Myers, Midland, and Kaitlin Butts, and has played major festivals including ACL, Stagecoach, Bonnaroo, CMA Fest, and Under The Big Sky. ABOUT AMERICAN DOGWOOD Founded in 2025, American Dogwood is an independent record label built on artist ownership, integrity, and storytelling rooted in home. The current roster includes Shaboozey and Kevin Powers.
