The weekend keeps its promise: sunshine across Belize

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The forecast made the promise on Friday, and Saturday is delivering it in full. Mainly fair weather conditions prevail across Belize, with sunshine overhead, gentle seas, and inland heat reaching 95 degrees, and Sunday is set to repeat the performance.

According to the National Meteorological Service, skies will be sunny with a few cloudy spells today and clear to partly cloudy tonight. Showers or thunderstorms will be isolated, with a medium chance of a few more mostly over the Toledo District tonight, the weekend’s lone exception to the fair pattern.

Temperatures along the coast will reach a high of 89 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) and a low of 82 (28 Celsius). Inland areas will be the hottest in the country, climbing to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Celsius) before dropping to 73 (23 Celsius). In the hills, expect a high of 83 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and a cool low of 67 (19 Celsius). With the mercury at 95 inland, the weekend checklist stays simple: water close and shade often.

At sea, conditions remain at their friendliest, with easterly winds of 5 to 15 knots, a light chop, and waves of 2 to 4 feet, fine water for the weekend’s boaters, snorkelers, and fishing trips.

On the tropical front, the calm holds. Tropical cyclone formation is not expected in the region over the next 48 hours.

Looking ahead to Sunday and Sunday night, similar weather conditions are expected to prevail, carrying the sunshine through the full weekend.

Today’s low tides are at 1:06 PM and 11:32 PM, with a high tide at 7:41 PM and another high at 6:11 AM tomorrow. The sun sets this evening at 6:22 PM and rises tomorrow at 5:34 AM. The forecast was issued by forecaster Tareek Matthews.
