UCU Lady Canons secured a well-deserved 61-50 victory against Pearl Queens in the National Basketball League encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Wednesday.
The Lady Canons opened up a five-point (18-13) lead at the end of the opening period before stretching it to nine points (36-27) going into the long break.
Coming from the halftime break, the Pearl Queens were limited to only nine points as they trailed by 18 points going into the final quarter.
Despite Pearl Queens’ late they trailed by 11 points in the game they lacked composure and accuracy to convert their chances created.
Matrina Anyango managed a double-double scoring 15 points and making 21 rebounds before Sylvia Nakituuka added 14 points for the Lady Canons
On the other hand, Jane Chisom Iriele also managed a double-double dropping 13 points and making 10 rebounds. Rose Musundi (11 points) and Djeneba Ballo (10 points) added to the Queens’ harvest.
Nicholas Natuhereza’s bench managed 20 points while the Pearl Queens’ bench could only offer four.
