Bombo Military Grounds will witness a battle for survival on Thursday when UPDF host Mbarara City in one of the day’s two league matches.

The hosts, languishing in relegation zone with 14 points after match day 21 are winless in 12 league matches and have managed just one win in 15 matches.

Their only win in the 15 matches came against Lugazi on December 5.

Mbarara City are also not in a good position, just two points above the army side and have also won just once in 10 matches [L6, D3].

UPDF will hope to build on their decent run against the Ankole Lions as they are unbeaten in nine successive league meetings.

They have won seven of the 10 matches, lost just once and drawn twice in the process.

UPDF won the reverse fixture 1-0 with Samuel Ssekamatte, now at NEC scoring the winner in a game they finished with 10-men after Christopher Kawagu was sent off.
