Upper Bay Juneteenth Festival and Freedom Weekend Celebration, June 12–14

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Upper Bay Juneteenth Festival, a three-day Freedom Weekend Celebration taking place June 12–14, 2026. The event commemorates America’s 250th Anniversary while honoring the contributions of African Americans through the celebration of history, culture, achievement, and community in Harford County and throughout the region.

The weekend will feature:

Friday, June 12 – Legacy and Empowerment Day
A day of workshops, living history experiences, and community conversations focused on leadership, personal growth, and preserving cultural heritage.

Saturday, June 13 – Upper Bay Juneteenth Festival
Our signature festival brings the community together for a vibrant celebration of freedom and unity, featuring live Main Stage performances by Will Spence Band, Marc Clarke, Saegin, Xaala Dance Troupe, and Epic Marching Band, alongside a vendor marketplace, delicious food, cultural exhibits, museum tours, family-friendly activities, voter registration, and health screenings provided by University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health.

Sunday, June 14 – Gospel Celebration
A faith and family-focused day highlighted by a gospel concert featuring Aaron Harris, Jade Madden, Eric Waddell, and the Voices of Inspiration.

As one of the region’s largest Juneteenth observances, the Upper Bay Juneteenth Festival continues to bring together residents, organizations, businesses, and visitors from across Maryland to commemorate this important chapter in American history.

Darlington, Md.
