URC semi-final lineup confirmed: Blockbuster showdowns take centre stage
The 2025/26 URC semi-finals are confirmed, with Glasgow Warriors facing the Bulls and Leinster hosting the Stormers next Saturday.
The 2025/26 URC semi-finals are confirmed, with Glasgow Warriors facing the Bulls at Murrayfield and Leinster hosting the Stormers at the Aviva Stadium next Saturday. Both South African sides face demanding away trips as they bid to reach the Grand Final.
SEMI-FINAL 1: GLASGOW AND BULLS MEET AGAIN IN EDINBURGH
Glasgow Warriors will host the Bulls in the first semi-final at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, with kick-off scheduled for 14:30 UK time / 15:30 SA time.
Franco Smith’s side defeated Connacht 33-21 on Friday evening to book their place in the last four. The Warriors finished top of the regular-season standings and now chase back-to-back URC titles after lifting the trophy in 2024.
However, Glasgow will not play at their usual Scotstoun base. Preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games have forced the Warriors to shift their knockout campaign to Scotland’s national stadium in Edinburgh.
The Bulls progressed after an emphatic 45-14 victory over Munster at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday. The Pretoria side have now lost three URC finals – in 2022, 2023 and 2024 – and remain desperate to end that run. The fixture also revives painful recent memories for the Bulls. Glasgow stunned them at Loftus in the 2023/24 Grand Final, denying them a maiden title on home soil.
SEMI-FINAL 2: LEINSTER AND STORMERS SET FOR AVIVA SHOWDOWN
The second semi-final takes place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, where defending champions Leinster host the Stormers. Kick-off is set for 18:30 SA time.
Leinster defeated the Lions 59-10 in their quarter-final and now target domestic glory after their 41-19 Champions Cup final defeat to Bordeaux-Bègles in Bilbao last weekend. The Stormers beat Cardiff 44-21 in Cape Town to reach the last four for the first time since the 2022/23 campaign.
That run ended with the Cape side winning the Grand Final. John Dobson’s team became the competition’s inaugural champions in 2021/22 and have pedigree in knockout rugby.
However, the Stormers face a significant injury cloud. Flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu sustained a serious ankle injury against Cardiff and is unlikely to feature in Dublin.
